Keely Garfield’s mini “epics” are like tumbling stones in an edgy, thrilling stream of consciousness where religion, politics, domestic life and sexuality are playfully articulated and warped. For Keely Garfield Dance’s highly-anticipated upcoming New York Season, Garfield will present Limerence, Eva Potranspiration/Cloud 9, and First Attempt, equal parts dance, drama, and devotional (http://blogs.wnyc.org/culture/). Joining her is an all star cast including Brandin Steffensen, Omagbitse Omagbemi, Jaamil Olawale Kosoko, John Mario-Sevillia, Eric Jackson Bradley and a featured performance by Garfield’s 8 year-old daughter, Vivian Ra. Jonathan Belcher brings good things to light, Matthew Brookshire makes up original songs, found objects threaten to take over, and then there is the Rock Star posturing by yours truly channeling David Bowie.
